Before I begin i have to make clear that there is no such thing as bonsai seeds. There are just tree seeds and all bonsai are are trees in pots. So that being said I will tell you about my bonsai seeds.
Japanese Black Pine
The first seeds I ever planted were Japanese Black Pines. After soaking the seeds for 24 hours and the keeping them in the refrigerator for a month I carefully sorted the seeds from the moss. This was a little tricky because the seeds were so small. I placed one seed in each of the 72 slots in the planter. I had about twenty seeds left over so I threw them in the pot with some other Japanese Black Pines. I didn’t even cover them with soil. I’m not quite sure what happened to the seeds in the planter. Our theory is that the Cardinals ate them but in in any case they were a total loss. However the seeds I threw in the pot took root and I have about a dozen 6-month old seedlings.
